WebsiteHow can we offer our customers the opportunity of ordering groceries online, while making sure that the turnover benefits the local merchants?
That question was posed by REMA 1000 Denmark in 2015, and the answer turned out to be REMA 1000 Vigo.
REMA 1000 Vigo was launched in October 2016 as a digital platform that facilitates REMA 1000 customers in Denmark ordering and shopping groceries for one another in the local REMA 1000 store.
Through https://shop.rema1000.dk/ and the app REMA 1000 Vigo, customers can order groceries from their local REMA 1000 store. The groceries are then picked, packed, transported, and delivered to the customers address by other customers, registered as Vigo-shoppers in the app. The price for delivery paid by the customer goes directly to the Vigo-shopper.
REMA 1000 Vigo contributes to:
- Sustain local stores: All the groceries ordered through the platform, are shopped in a local REMA 1000 store and the turnover therefore benefits the local merchant.
- The groceries are not delivered from a central storage, but directly from a local REMA 1000 store. Therefore, the transport effort is limited and at the same time we notice that 60 percent of the orders are delivered by foot, 30 percent by bike and only 10 percent by car.
- Involve customers and thereby facilitate strong, local communities: The platform allows customers to shop for one another and deliver a bag of groceries to their next-door neighbor, while they are already in the local REMA 1000 store shopping for themselves.

Uno-X Mobility aims to make it easier for customers to choose renewable energy when driving on the roads in Norway and Denmark.
The mission is to develop and promote solutions for sustainable mobility, and the business area offers ultrafast EV charging, liquid fuel, and car wash under the Uno-X brand. The transition to more sustainable mobility is realized, among other things, by establishing a nationwide network for easy and efficient ultrafast charging in Norway and Denmark, with locations tailored for either passenger cars or heavy-duty vehicles. The ambition is to be a leading player in the fast charging market.
At the same time, the business area continues to fulfill the critical societal function of providing liquid fuel to customers who need it for their transportation needs along the road. The total market for liquid fuel is declining, while cars have a long lifespan, and it will take some years before the entire vehicle fleet is replaced.
Ecolabelled car wash is another important initiative. Here, water consumption is reduced by approximately 80 percent, and wastewater is approximately 90 percent better purified of oil and heavy metals compared to a "regular" car wash.
Uno-X Mobility and Reitan Retail's passion for cycling is becoming well-known, and we believe cycling is a prime example of more sustainable mobility. The professional cycling team, Uno-X Mobility, is owned and operated by the business area and is a realization of the passion for cycling, with cyclists being important ambassadors for sustainable mobility. Both the men's and women's teams participate in the Tour de France.

WebsiteWorld-class quality and animal welfare
Norsk Kylling is a world leader in animal welfare and produces chicken under the brand names Solvinge and Stange Gårdsprodukter. In 2022, we became the first producer in the world to comply with the requirements of the international animal welfare standard European Chicken Commitment (ECC) across our entire production.
This means that Norsk Kylling uses a slower-growing type of chicken and gives the chickens more space in the barns. In addition, the barns are equipped with specially developed toys and lighting, so that the chickens have better opportunities to exhibit their natural behaviour.
We believe in transparency and collaboration, and understand that our work is about much more than chicken. It is about thinking beyond oneself, about responsible decisions, and about all the dedicated people in the value chain. We collaborate with skilled farmers in Central Norway, who ensure every day that the animal welfare is good and that the chickens are well-cared for. The commitment and expertise of all employees drive innovation and quality, and together we have set a new standard for responsible food production.
Norsk Kylling's vision is to become the world’s best food value chain. In the coming years, we will enhance the good work we do on animal welfare, halve our own carbon emissions, and develop a more climate-friendly chicken feed produced from local raw materials.

WebsiteThe family brewery Grans Bryggeri
Grans Bryggeri was established in Sandefjord in 1899. While most other breweries in other medium-sized Norwegian towns have been bought up, Grans remains in private hands – and is run by the third generation of the same family. In October 2005, REITAN bought into the company, thus securing 50 percent ownership of the brewery. The Gran family owns the remaining 50 percent.
It all started with Guttorm Gran senior: the man who, in the mid-1960s, went straight for the throat of Oslo breweries by dialling back prices and opening factory sales outlets. The result was turnover multiplied many times over. Since then, Grans has continued to challenge its competitors. What was once a small, local brewery has gradually become one of Norway’s most modern production facilities. And the factory outlet has moved onto the shelves of REMA 1000.
Today, Grans bottles beer, soda and mineral water to suit every taste – whether you prefer your soda with or without sugar, Taffel natural, or fruit-infused iced tea. Each bottling run is carefully monitored by the company laboratory, where taste, colour and content are checked before the products are cleared for sale. With these routines in place, customers can rest assured that they will get first-class quality in all our products.
To protect the environment, Grans Bryggeri has offered products with recycled plastic packaging since 2013. A common feature of bestsellers like Tropo, Champ, Cola and Cola X from Grans is that they all use packaging containing 50 percent recycled plastic.

Kjeldsberg is a local coffee house in Trondheim with long-standing traditions and a strong passion for really good coffee. Since 1856, the focus has been on making the best everyday coffee that makes people enjoy the small moments in everyday life and be a bit more present in the moment.
To ensure a first-class taste experience and quality at every stage, Kjeldsberg is involved throughout the entire process – from selecting the best beans to the moment the coffee is packed in the characteristic, yellow bags designed to preserve flavour. The product line includes both filter-ground, coffee capsules, French press, coarse-ground coffee, instant coffee and whole beans.
Kjeldsberg makes coffee with respect for tomorrow, people, and nature. Therefore, all Kjeldsberg coffee is certified by the Rainforest Alliance or Fairtrade, and you will also find double-certified organic Fairtrade coffee in the assortment. This includes ensuring the coffee is fairly produced, that the workers receive the payment they deserve, and that coffee production has minimal impact on the environment. These factors contribute to creating a safer everyday life for the coffee farmer and assurance for the customers.

WebsiteTasty chicken that customers can eat with a good conscience
Solvinge is produced by Norsk Kylling, which in 2022 became the first producer in the world to comply with the requirements of the international animal welfare standard, the European Chicken Commitment (ECC). This means that customers can purchase the Solvinge brand with the assurance that animal welfare is well safeguarded.
To a great extent, animal welfare is about how slowly the chicken grows. The chicken breed that Solvinge uses in its production grows slower, and lives longer than regular chickens. In addition, all Solvinge farmers have upgraded the environment in the henhouses, including adding bales of hay and stands the chickens can climb on. This is particularly important for the Solvinge chicken, which is an extremely active and healthy chicken breed. This is good news both for animal welfare and taste.
Products from Solvinge are only available at REMA 1000, and include items such as chicken cold cuts, minced chicken, chicken fillets, grilled products, chicken wings, chicken thighs, salad-ready meat and whole chickens.

WebsiteCraftsmanship and quality for the Norwegian people since 1989
Good taste is no coincidence. It is, in fact, the animals' living conditions, under more sustainable circumstances, that ultimately create a fantastic raw material and a satisfied customer.
Stange Gårdsprodukter started as a small chicken producer outside Tønsberg. In the beginning, only selected restaurants and star chefs in Oslo were able to buy the juicy country chicken. Increased demand led to the small producer becoming an exclusive partner for REMA 1000.
Today, the Stange Gårdsprodukter range consists of; country chicken, duck, turkey, lamb, sauces, cold cuts, sausages, and eggs. Not only that, but Stange Gårdsprodukter simply loves to develop "straight in the oven" products that make anyone feel like a star chef. Since day one, the goal has been to produce raw materials of the highest class. A farm product from Stange Gårdsprodukter should always be pure, safe, and honest, and of the best quality. This is a result of the long-term philosophy of caring for animals and nature. Nothing is left to chance at Stange Gårdsprodukter, and we naturally use a chicken breed that is healthy and more slow-growing. They have handpicked farms with completely new operating buildings and equipment for an optimal growth environment.
The chickens receive environmental enrichments in the form of perches and straw bales so that they get a varied substrate, and thus also the opportunity to develop their muscles better. What is unique to Stange Gårdsprodukter chickens is that they have access to natural daylight in their own winter gardens. There they can roam freely in a controlled varied environment, all year round.
It's not just the breed and space that are important for a good product. One of the secrets to the good taste also lies in the feed. In collaboration with local feed suppliers, Norway's best chefs, and Norsk Kylling, Stange Gårdsprodukter have developed soy-free special feed consisting of peas, potato, wheat, oats, corn, fava beans, and rapeseed.
Stange Gårdsprodukter uses the animal welfare team, the hatchery, and the slaughterhouse of Norsk Kylling in Trøndelag. Norsk Kylling ensures that Stange Gårdsprodukter's guidelines, and the industry's and authorities' requirements are followed on the farms. All Stange Gårdsprodukter chicken is ECC certified and has received the "Good Chicken Award"."

All of Spekeloftet’s products are cured in natural mountain air, based on traditional craftsmanship partnered with good, solid food safety. In contrast to our larger competitors, we cure all our products the old, traditional way. The product is hung in the curing loft where fresh mountain air is pulled in to take care of the curing job. This is why we can say "Natural mountain-dried cured meat", "the air cures and the air seasons", as well as "The meat is ready when the weather says so".
Curing has been the most frequently used method for preserving meat over thousands of years. Since the very beginning, Spekeloftet has kept this old tradition alive. Its location in the mountains dividing east from west creates perfect conditions for curing meat. You can feel it in the taste, and see it in the success.
REMA Industrier AS took over Gyllensten’s ownership interest in the company in 2010. This opened up a regular spot for Spekeloftet in the refrigerated section in all REMA 1000 shops.
