Leadership trainee program

Leadership trainee program

As a leadership trainee at Reitan Retail, you will have the opportunity to explore various disciplines and participate in exciting projects. The goal is for you to eventually take on a leadership or specialist role with us, either in Norway or in one of the other six countries where we operate.

About the program

The leadership trainee program spans two years, during which you will have the opportunity to try out various roles, gain knowledge about the value chain, and develop your personal skills and leadership abilities.

The program is tailored to each individual, but the goal remains the same: to educate the future specialists and leaders at Reitan Retail!

Submit your application here by the 9th October 2024 deadline. The program will start in August 2025.

Exploring different roles

During the two years, you will explore at least two different roles within our four business areas: Reitan Convenience, Uno-X Mobility, REMA 1000 Norway, and REMA 1000 Denmark. You will work with strong brands, learn about retail, product development, finance, sustainability, and much, much more!

In addition to your daily work in the various departments, you will have the opportunity to attend our Talent School, which educates future franchisees in REMA 1000. This provides valuable insight into the business, as well as professional and personal development in leadership.

Guidance and mentorship

As a trainee, you will be assigned your own mentor, who will provide guidance and advice throughout the entire period. How often you meet and what you wish to gain from the conversations is up to you. You have the opportunity to discuss everything from personal development to professional topics.

5. Welcome and onboarding

The program begins in August 2025. We will stay in touch until the start date and ensure that you get to know us and each other a bit before the first day of work.

The experience has lived up to my high expectations. Skilled employees contribute to professional development, and it’s a pleasant environment to work in. The opportunities are many, and the culture is open and inclusive.

- Mithun Ramesh, trainee 2023-2025

Through the trainee programme, I get to try out different roles and experience parts of the operations that I would not otherwise have seen. This has given me a better understanding of how the professional world works and clarity on the types of positions I might want to pursue in the future.

- Silje Enger, trainee 2023-2025
